India in true sense is still an agricultural economy and main stay of its majority population. It directly or indirectly employs the largest section of the workforce and feeds billions of people on this earth. With ever changing world dynamics, environment and climate change the needs and requirements of agriculture is also changing. With continuously rising prices of fossil fuel chemical fertilizer is also becoming a burden for any growing economy. Above it, chemical solutions to enhance productivity and plant protection are doing more harm than benefiting farmers and the fields.
With changing times, we need to change our agriculture practices and switch to organic and biological solutions. This would over the time maintain the fertility of soil and inhibit the useful soil from getting polluted and poisonous. It’s high time we mend our course else we ourselves would be responsible for creating irreparable damage to Mother Earth.
